The Upper-Andaman-Coast-Area north of Phuket is home to three of Thailands possibly most attractive National Parks: Similian Islands, Surin Islands and Khao Sok National Park. The beautiful Similian Islands give you the opportunity to have an amazing nature and diving experience but it can get very busy on the islands since it gets many day-trippers from Phuket. Rather quiet are the further north located Surin Islands, they are also amazing. The Beach-Resort of Khao Lak is made up of longstreched, seemingly endless mainland-beaches and serves as an ideal base to discover these National Parks. We recommend to combine the Trips with at least one overnight stay to catch the spirit of these places. If you are seeking to get more off the beaten track, head further north all the way up towards the Myanmar border. There you will find the islands of Ko Phayam and (the small) Ko Chang. They are both very calm and relaxed. Due to long distances between the island groups, there are no direct boat-connections in this area except for these two Islands. Mostly you will have to go back to the mainland, travel overland and take a boat to another island.
